• US method

Ultrasound (US) is a type of mechanical energy that we use to generate shear forces to disrupt the biofilm on the surface. The destruction of biofilms by sonication appears to be related to the phenomenon of bubbles and fluid flow that occurs during sonication.

• Electric field method

The effect of electric fields on biological cells is obvious. Electric fields and currents can affect the organization of biofilms, metabolic processes, cellular behavior, and various cellular responses within prokaryotic and eukaryotic cells. The application of electric current can increase the repulsive force and promote the surface detachment of bacterial biofilms.

• Plasma method

Plasma is the fourth state of matter after solids, liquids and gases. When the energy increases, the solid molecules move freely and form a liquid state. As the energy level increases, free molecules disperse into a larger space and transform into a gaseous state. Finally, enough energy can break down the gas molecules into free electrons and ions.
