In Vivo Biofilm Testing

Biofilms have been a research hotspot in recent years, and more and more evidences have shown that the formation of biofilms is closely related to infectious diseases, especially chronic infections and recurrent infectious diseases, and is very likely to be involved in the occurrence, development, and prognosis of diseases. played an important role in the process. The in-depth study of biofilms in vivo plays a pivotal role in human cognition, treatment and prevention of related diseases, and may be a key to human treatment and prevention of infectious diseases. Now, CD BioSciences provides you with a variety of in vivo biofilm testing service to meet your scientific research needs.

Our Services

Biofilm is a three-dimensional complex structure composed of microorganisms and extracellular polymers. The extracellular polymers have complex components, including polysaccharides, proteins, nucleic acids, and phospholipids. In recent years, in vivo biofilm detection technology has developed rapidly. CD BioSciences provides one-stop in vivo biofilm testing service. We offer a variety of methods and equipment to choose from to meet your research needs. We can provide in vivo biofilm detection technologies including scanning electron microscopy, laser confocal microscopy, fluorescence in situ hybridization technology, etc.

In Vivo Biofilm Testing Approaches We Offer

In Vivo Biofilm Testing

  • Scanning Electron Microscope (SEM)
Scanning Electron Microscopy (SEM) was used in the detection of biofilms earlier, and it can observe the ultrastructure. The disadvantage is that it requires a vacuum environment and a strict dehydration and filming process, which is easy to cause damage to the sample and false image formation. The approximate morphology of the target image is observed.
  • Confocal Laser Scanning Microscopy (CLSM)
The CLSM overcomes the above shortcomings well, which does not require sample fixation and embedding technology, and can observe fresh and original samples for the first time, which truly reflects the nature of the samples. In addition, the three-dimensional structure and dynamic change process of the sample can be reproduced by scanning the samples at different levels and at different times, combined with the corresponding software technology. Therefore, confocal laser microscopy (CLSM) is an in situ, stereo, and dynamic biofilm detection technique.
  • Fluorescence in situ Hybridization (FISH)
Fluorescence in situ hybridization (FISH) combined with fluorescence microscopy has been introduced into the study of biofilms, showing good and broad application prospects. Fluorescence in situ hybridization technology refers to the use of fluorescently labeled specific nucleic acid probes to hybridize with corresponding target DNA molecules or RNA molecules in cells, and combined with CLSM to observe fluorescent signals to understand the morphology, structure, and relationship with bacteria.
