  • Biofilm- embedded bacteria were estimated by indirect bioassays.
  • Through the standardization of planktonic microorganisms, the number of biological products is related to the biofilm-encapsulated microorganisms that produce the product. The biological products produced by planktonic microorganisms are similar to those produced by biofilm-embedded bacteria. A standardized curve for each tested microorganism needs to be formed.
  • Total protein was measured at absorbance at 550 or 950 nm; tryptophan fluorescence, endotoxin, ATP production by bioluminescence caused by luciferin and luciferase, urease production to estimate the number of attached microorganisms, and formazan production Electron transfer is accomplished by bioassays.
