• We determined bacterial growth by examining standard biochemical reactions. Antibiotic susceptibility testing was performed using the Kirby Bauer disk diffusion method.
• Biofilm production was accomplished by the microtiter plate method of O'Toole and Kolter and quantified by spectrophotometry using an ELISA reader. Plates were stained with crystal violet min, and values were recorded spectrophotometrically at OD 490 nm.
• Statistical analyses were performed using the statistical software package SPSS, version 16.0. P values < 0.05 were considered significant.
